When planning your kitchen lighting it's important to consider the many roles that a kitchen may play in your lifestyle. For many families the kitchen is much more than just a food preparation and dining area, it's a meeting place, a homework area and even a space for entertaining.
To provide general kitchen lighting a large flush or semi-flush ceiling fixture should be centrally located. Kitchen islands and dinettes are the perfect spots for hanging pendant or mini-pendant lights. You'll also want to be sure to have under cabinet task lighting as well as overhead lighting above the sink and stove to light up your cooking, food prep and cleanup tasks.
